Lots of new products and exciting changes happening for everyone we represent. Here’s what is making headlines:

Röchling Engineering Plastics
Effective January 1, 2016 Tim Brown will become President of Röchling Engineering Plastics in North America. Lewis Carter the current President of Röchling Engineering Plastics has accepted the position of Director of a new division of Röchling in the business of injection molded products for the medical industry.

This division currently has three companies and is looking to expand further. Lew will also continue as a board member of Röchling worldwide directing the operation of all 85 Röchling companies in 21 countries throughout the world. Röchling currently has over 8,000 employees worldwide.

As a result of Tim Brown becoming President, Röchling Engineering Plastics is also excited to announce these additional appointments; Jeff Hester will be the new Marketing and Business Development Manager, Brian Pizzini will take on the additional responsibilities of Business Manager of the Sustaplast product line – this includes all Mechanical & High Performance Plastics, and Mati McKenzie will take on the additional responsibilities as Business Manager of Medical Products.

Röchling Engineering Plastics has also announced the expansion of their standard and custom extrusion capabilities for UHMW. Over the years Röchling has done a number of UHMW extrusions but it was never strongly promoted. This has changed with the new capacity and capabilities that Röchling has put in place in 2015. They have developed a new brochure for UHMW profiles to teach you more about our capabilities. You can find this on the Röchling website or call and have one sent to you from our Customer Service Department. Let me work with you on all opportunities for new profiles. Also consider checking to see if it makes sense to develop a second source for your customers who do have custom profile. Often we can do this with the die charge amortized over the first few orders.

Röchling is also expanding their manufacturing capabilities and capacities for of Polypropylene and HDPE sheet products. This major expansion is currently in progress and we have expanded inventories to prepare for this growth. We are able to do this with the help of our German sister company.

Röchling now has very large inventories of Homo and CoPolymer Polypropylene, (Natural & Black) and Röchling Eurogray Heat Stabilized Polypropylene sheet as well. Their inventories in Natural & Black HDPE and Pipe Grade HDPE have increased as well as their Cut-Rite HDPE cutting board. Röchling Machined Plastics
Röchling Machined Plastics can machine both CNC Machining Center or CNC Lathe work to your customers specifications. Röchling has the or CAD capabilities to take a print from you or your customer quote and machine to specification.

Most jobs are quoted within 2-8 hours and typical lead time is 4 weeks on a one time order. This is needed to get material and schedule onto the machining centers. Palram
Palram announces increased inventory of Palsun Coil stock. Palram stocks Clear, White and Smoke in a variety of widths for immediate shipment of coils from stock. Coils are stocked in all standard sign widths. Palram reels have the following lengths:

Please remember every manufacturer has their own length requirements per reel. When quoting make sure your customer realizes different manufacturers have different reel lengths. Make sure they compare price per sq. ft. and not cost per reel!

Palram also announced the expansion of PVC foam products for 2016 at this years IAPD convention in San Diego. Executives from Palram they would be almost doubling there capacity for PVC foam products for the printing and construction industries.

This new very large machine will have the capabilities to produce product in all grades of PVC foam for Palram. They will produce their Palight Premium and Palight EPS grades on the new equipment. We will run thickness from 1mm to 25mm on this new equipment. Palram continues to offer Palight Premium with or without masking at now additional cost. Just let customer service know what way you would like your product, masked or unmasked.

 

Margacipta
Margacipta wins an Environmental Award at the 59th annual IAPD convention. This was for practices of handling and minimizing waste in the manufacturing of Margacipta’s Cast Acrylic products.

Margacipta is Asia’s largest manufacturer of Cast Acrylic sheet. They are located in Indonesia and work with a number of US distributors for container load business of cast acrylic sheet. A container load is approximately 19 pallets of material. If you are a large user of Cast Acrylic it may be me to see if you can work with Margacipta.
